Founder of BJP’s IT Cell to Merge His Party With Congress

Guwahati: Prodyut Bora who founded the BJP’s IT cell and left the party in 2015 is allegedly considering joining up with Congress to form the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).

Due to ideological differences, Bora who built the BJP party’s incredibly successful IT cell resigned from the National Executive Committee and from primary membership in the party.

Although, Bora has denied these assertions that his party is joining up with Congress.

Chairman of Liberal Democratic Party, Prodyut Bora said, “My party has not yet merged with Congress. I had advised my party to merge with Congress but no formal decision has been made in this regard. Firstly we have to call the state executive and a resolution has to be passed”.

Expressing his desire to quit politics altogether, Bora added further, “I have decided to quit politics. I want to be a private citizen, completely cut off from the world”.

According to reports, Bora had urged that his party, the LDP, unite with the Congress in order to bolster the opposition forces in light of the nation’s current “serious political crisis.”

According to Bora, who left the BJP in 2015, the party no longer adheres to its original ideologies and has descended into craziness as a result of its obsession with winning at all costs.

Given that the IT cell had considerably aided the BJP’s success in the 2014 general elections and that Bora was well-known in the political sphere as being close to both Union Minister Rajnath Singh and veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani, Bora’s resignation had caused some controversy.

The over-centralization of power by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and then-BJP President Amit Shah at the time clearly incensed a visibly displeased Bora.

The same year he left the BJP, Bora established the Liberal Democratic Party, a local political organisation focused in Assam.
