
Four Lives Lost in Chilling Manipur Ambush, Manhunt Underway
Churachandpur, Manipur: Security forces in Manipur have launched an intensive manhunt following a shocking daylight ambush near K Mongjang village in the Churachandpur district on Sunday afternoon. The brazen attack claimed four lives, sending shockwaves across the region and prompting immediate security reinforcements.
The incident, which occurred around 1 PM, saw a Hyundai Creta vehicle come under heavy gunfire, leaving three men fatally wounded inside the bullet-riddled car. Adding to the tragedy, a fourth victim, a woman, was discovered deceased near the site of the brutal assault. All four bodies have since been transported to the Churachandpur District Hospital morgue for post-mortem examinations.
The victims have been identified as Phalhing (72), a resident of Koite village; Thenkhothang alias Thahpi (48), from Matejang; Seikhogin (35), hailing from Teiseng; and Lengouhao (35), of Chengkon village.
Initial investigations strongly suggest that the car was targeted in a pre-meditated attack. A First Information Report (FIR) has been promptly registered at Churachandpur Police Station, and further investigations are actively underway to ascertain the full details and motive behind this heinous crime.
In immediate response to the grim incident, security forces have initiated intensive combing operations across the area, determined to track down and apprehend those responsible for the killings. Furthermore, authorities have enforced precautionary security protocols in the affected vicinity to pre-empt any potential escalation of violence or further untoward incidents.
Police officials have appealed to the public to maintain calm and urged citizens to report any suspicious activities to the authorities, as efforts are being intensified to restore normalcy and ensure that justice is served for the victims and their grieving families.
