Four Nabbed with Heroin, Arms Seized in Separate Operations in Manipur
Kakching — In a significant crackdown on narcotics, Manipur Police have arrested four individuals and confiscated a substantial quantity of heroin in Kakching district.
The raid, conducted at the Wabagai Lamkhai Thongkha area under Kakching Police Station, led to the apprehension of Thinmai Kaisidindou Liangmei (53), Dinthuibou Chawang (27), Lunghipuiliu (37), and Nanathongliu (42).
Police seized 91 soap cases containing approximately 1.12 kilograms of heroin powder, along with a Bolero vehicle, five mobile phones, and two Aadhaar cards.
A case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing to dismantle the drug network behind this large consignment.
In a parallel move to bolster public safety, security forces have intensified operations across the state, yielding a major haul of arms and ammunition in Bishnupur.
On August 20, a thorough search of the Sunusiphai Patton area under Moirang Police Station resulted in the recovery of an AK-47 rifle with a magazine, an SBBL, fifteen live rounds, twenty-three empty cartridges, a smoke grenade, a Baofeng radio set, six bulletproof jackets, and four bulletproof helmets. Officials confirmed that these seizures are part of a concerted effort to curb illegal activities and maintain peace.
Furthermore, the police are cracking down on traffic violations. On August 20, they detained a vehicle for traffic rule violations and removed tinted films from six others.
The following day, 35 challans were issued to offenders, collecting fines of Rs 83,000. These multi-pronged operations underscore the state’s commitment to tackling both drug trafficking and public safety concerns.
