Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to operate four pairs of special trains for the benefit of the people of Northeast region from next week. One bi-weekly AC special train will start running between Dibrugarh – New Delhi – Dibrugarh via Bogibeel w.e.f. 12th October, 2020; another weekly AC special train will start running between Dibrugarh – New Delhi – Dibrugarh from 15th October 2020, one weekly AC special train will start running between Kamakhya – Yesvantpur – Kamakhya from 14th October 2020 and another weekly AC special train will start running between Kamakhya – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Kamakhya from 15th October 2020. Passengers from a vast part of Assam and Northeast can now avail the facility of train travel to various parts of the country with the introduction of these special trains.
02505 Dibrugarh – New Delhi – Dibrugarh bi-weekly AC special via Bogibeel will leave from Dibrugarh at 22-00 hrs every Monday & Friday w.e.f. 12th October 2020 via North Lakhimpur, Harmuti, Rangapara North, New Misamari, Udalguri, Tangla, Rangiya, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Alipurduar, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj and Katihar to reach New Delhi at 13-55 hrs on every Wednesday & Sunday. During return journey train no 02506 will leave from New Delhi every Thursday & Sunday w.e.f. 15th October at 09-25 hrs to arrive Dibrugarh at 03-00 hrs on every Saturday & Tuesday. This train will have 1st AC, 2nd AC, 3rd AC, accommodations available.
02503 Dibrugarh – New Delhi – Dibrugarh weekly AC special will leave from Dibrugarh at 19-50 hrs every Thursday w.e.f. 15th October 2020 via Moranhat, Simaluguri, Mariani, Dimapur, Diphu, Lumding, Hojai, Guwahati, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Alipurduar, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj and Katihar to reach New Delhi at 13-55 hrs on Saturday. During return journey train no 02504 will leave from New Delhi every Tuesday at 09-25 hrs w.e.f. 20th October to arrive Dibrugarh at 05-15 hrs on Thursday. This train will have 1st AC, 2nd AC, 3rd AC, accommodations available.
02552 Kamakhya – Yesvantpur – Kamakhya weekly AC special will leave from Kamakhya every Wednesday at 14-00 hrs w.e.f. 14th October to reach Yesvantpur at 18-25 hrs on Friday. During return journey train no 02551 will leave Yesvantpur at 08-30 hrs every Saturday w.e.f. 17th October to reach Kamakhya at 14-00 hrs on Monday. This train will have 1st AC, 2nd AC, 3rd AC, accommodations available.
02520 Kamakhya – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Kamakhya weekly AC special will leave from Kamakhya every Thursday at 21-00 hrs w.e.f. 15th October to reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 17-30 hrs on Saturday. During return journey train no 02519 will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 07-50 hrs every Sunday 18th October to reach Kamakhya at 04-25 hrs on Tuesday. This train will have 1st AC, 2nd AC, 3rd AC, accommodations available.
There will be no unreserved coaches in any train. Passengers must download Aarogya Setu App, and strictly observe social distancing both at the station and on trains. Wearing of face covers at the entry and during travel is a must. Only asymptomatic passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the Railway station/board the train.
It may be mentioned here that all regular passenger train services on Indian Railways including Premium trains, Mail/Express trains, Passenger trains services, Narrow gauge train services were suspended in the wake of COVID-19 since the last week of March.
