Four Suspected Drug Traffickers Arrested in Meghalaya, Heroin Seized

Meghalaya: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya, arrested four individuals suspected of drug trafficking during a raid in the Umsohsun area on Wednesday evening.

The operation led to the recovery of 19.4 grams of heroin, concealed within two soap boxes, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat narcotics in the region.

The arrested suspects include Suraj Masih, 25, from Punjabi Line, and three women from the Oakland area: Altima Khatoon, 27, Gulasha Begum, 30, and Jumila Khatoon, 28.

In addition to the heroin, the authorities seized five mobile phones and cash amounting to Rs 81,610, believed to be proceeds from drug sales.

This operation marks another significant achievement for the ANTF in their fight against drug trafficking in Meghalaya’s capital.

Police sources have indicated that investigations are still underway to uncover any potential links to larger drug networks operating in the area.
