Free Entry To All ASI-Protected Monuments From Aug 5-15 for ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’

Guwahati: Access to all monuments and sites guarded by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for the next 10 days beginning today (Friday) will be free as part of the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” and 75th Independence Day celebrations.

According to an official order by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), All Indian citizens and foreign visitors are now permitted free entrance to the monuments managed by the ASI.

“As part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and 75th I-Day celebrations, @ASIGoI has made entry free for visitors/ tourists to all its protected monuments/sites across the country, from 5th-15th August, 2022,” Union Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy said in a tweet.

In the country, there are more than 3,600 monuments that are under ASI protection, and 116 of them are ticketed. Of them, 17 are in Uttar Pradesh, 16 in Maharashtra, 12 in Karnataka, 10 in Delhi, 8 in Madhya Pradesh, 7 in Tamil Nadu, and 6 in Gujarat.
