Free Form Distribution Under ‘Nijut Moina’ Scheme to Kickstart in Karbi Anglong

Guwahati: The Assam government’s ambitious Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina Asoni 2.0 (MMNMA 2.0) is poised to make a significant impact on the lives of aspiring young women, with the free form distribution programme scheduled to be launched on August 6 for the 2025–26 financial year. The scheme, designed to bolster female enrolment in higher education, aims to support a remarkable 10 lakh girls across the state by easing the process of applying to colleges and universities.

As part of this statewide rollout, the Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong district administrations are all set to host the programme at six designated venues on the same day. These events are not just about paperwork; they will be graced by a host of prominent dignitaries, lending an air of importance and encouragement to the initiative. The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) will be present at Diphu Govt. College, while former MP Horensing Bey will address students at Eastern Karbi Anglong College in Bokajan.

Adding to the list of distinguished guests, Dr. Numal Momin, Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly (ALA), is slated to attend the event at Govt. Model College, Deithor. Meanwhile, MLA Dorsing Ronghang will be present at Thongnokbe College, Dokmoka, and MLA Bidya Sing Engleng will grace the occasion at Rukasen College. In West Karbi Anglong, the programme will see MLA Rupsing Teron at Rangsina College in Donkamokam, highlighting the widespread reach of the initiative.

The District Information and Public Relations Office (DIPRO) has been working diligently behind the scenes, tasked with ensuring that the message of this empowering scheme reaches every corner of the districts. Through a comprehensive campaign on digital and social media platforms, DIPRO is publicising key activities to maximise awareness and participation, ensuring that no eligible student misses out on this golden opportunity to pursue her academic dreams.
