From October 2, Manas National Park will Reopen

Guwahati: Director Vaibhab C Mathur announced that the Manas National Park will reopen to visitors on October 2.

On June 5, the UNESCO national heritage site was shut down for the monsoon. It will reopen on Sunday.

In the meantime, on Monday, the Kaziranga National Park’s administration announced that it would also reopen to visitors on October 2. MK Yadav, a warden of the Assam Forest Department’s Wildlife Branch, said this.

Yadav stated that there are no restrictions on the Chief Minister entering the park after the park’s scheduled closing hour in response to the Assam CM riding a horse in the Kaziranga National Park with Sadhguru.

Notably, two activists reported CM Sarma, the Sadhguru, and state tourism minister Jayanta Malla Baruah to the police on Saturday, alleging they violated the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, by entering the national park after the designated visit time.

CM Sarma countered, saying, “There is no infringement. The warden may provide authorization to access a protected area, even at night, in accordance with wildlife law. Nobody is prohibited from entering at night by law. The park was formally inaugurated yesterday, and Sadhguru and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar have just arrived. Since they have thousands of followers, we anticipate that this year’s tourism season in Kaziranga will be excellent.
