Gangtok: A significant assembly, the ‘Sarva Dharma Evam Sarva Jatiya Sabha’, convened in Gangtok, witnessing an unparalleled display of national solidarity. Sikkim’s Chief Minister, Prem Singh Tamang, unequivocally voiced the state’s unwavering support for the Indian armed forces and the ongoing “Operation Sindoor”. This pivotal gathering, orchestrated under the auspices of Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur, drew together a diverse cross-section of society.
The event, a testament to Sikkim’s inclusive spirit, saw the convergence of state government officials, esteemed religious leaders representing various faiths, community representatives, NGO members, and a multitude of citizens, all united by a profound sense of national pride.
Chief Minister Tamang, articulating the collective sentiment of the Sikkimese populace, expressed his profound honor in participating in the historic assembly. He underscored the Sabha’s embodiment of unity and harmony among Sikkim’s diverse religious, caste, and community groups. Notably, he affirmed, “We fully support our brave soldiers and the Indian Army. We support Operation Sindoor and stand with the Government of India in its fight against terrorism.”
The Chief Minister also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, acknowledging the substantial fortification of India’s defense capabilities under his guidance. He reiterated the unwavering support of the people and Government of Sikkim for the Central Government, the Armed Forces, and national security initiatives.
A defining moment of the Sabha was the unanimous adoption of a resolution, symbolizing a solemn pledge by the people of Sikkim to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Indian Army. This commitment underscored their resolve to support the nation’s endeavors in combating terrorism and safeguarding national unity.
CM Tamang emphasized the Sabha’s potent symbolism of unity, highlighting Sikkim’s reputation as a bastion of peaceful coexistence among diverse religious, linguistic, and cultural groups. He asserted that this harmonious blend constitutes India’s true strength.
In a poignant tribute, he honored the valor and sacrifice of the soldiers who have laid down their lives for the nation, stating, “Their courage and sacrifice inspire us to stay united and protect our nation.”
Concluding his address, the Chief Minister urged the assembly to uphold patriotism and discipline, emphasizing the collective responsibility to safeguard the nation. “India is strong. We are united. Together, we will overcome every challenge,” he affirmed.
