Gas Tank Explosion In Northern Iraq, 11 killed &13 Injured
Guwahati: As many as 11 people were killed and several people were injured after a fuel tank explosion in Northern Iraq.
According to reports, the incident occurred in Sulaimaniyah where 11 people died and 13 were injured.
The explosion occurred due to the leakage in the gas tank.
Rescue efforts are ongoing as it is believed that at least four persons are still trapped inside the damaged infrastructure.
The second-largest city in the autonomous Kurdistan region of Iraq was the site of the explosion which occurred at a three-story house.
The rescue teams have reportedly been working in the area for more than 15 hours.
One of the deceased has been identified as a child.
Governor Haval Abu Bakr has declared a day of mourning.
