Gauhati HC to APSC: Declare Results Without Assamese Language Paper
Guwahati: The Gauhati High Court has approved the Assam Government’s decision to remove the required Assamese language question from the state civil service test administered by the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC).
As a result, the Assamese language paper won’t be included in the results of the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2020, which was administered by the APSC.
The judgment was passed by the Gauhati High Court on Friday.
It should be noted that the Assam Cabinet decided to eliminate the requirement for students to take a qualifying language exam.
The high court received a number of petitions opposing the government’s action. According to an allegation, those who do not speak Assamese outside of Assam will profit from the APSC tests’ removal of the Assamese language section.
Administrator of the APSC’s “Fight against Injustice” Manas Pratim Baruah responded to the high court’s decision by stating that it is a bad indication for the Assamese language.
He declared, “Our mother tongue will cease to exist as of right now. Now, candidates from other states will have a chance thanks to this order. Representatives from AASU and other groups are now silent.”
