Gaurav Gogoi Slams PM Modi for Foreign Trip Amid Manipur Crisis
Guwahati: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has strongly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for being on a foreign trip while Manipur faces a constitutional crisis.
Taking to his X handle, Gogoi wrote, “The Prime Minister is again busy on a foreign trip while there is a constitutional crisis in the state of Manipur.” He further blamed Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the ongoing instability in the northeastern state, accusing him of mismanaging the situation for years.
“Amit Shah and his advisors are as responsible for the present dilemma in the northeastern state,” Gogoi asserted, holding the Union government accountable for the political unrest.
His remarks come at a time when tensions in Manipur continue to escalate, following the resignation of Chief Minister N. Biren Singh. The uncertainty surrounding Manipur’s leadership has sparked sharp political reactions, with opposition leaders increasing their criticism of the BJP-led central government.
