Guwahati: An eviction drive was carried out at Ganeshguri by Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) on Thursday. Numerous unlawful footpath vendors have been evicted by the GMC.
According to the GMC commissioner’s instructions, the eviction has been carried out. The municipal council has conducted evictions in several areas of the city since November 1.
The GMC operation team reportedly evicted approximately 50 of these unlawfully erected shops and stalls at Jalukbari earlier in October.
Additionally, the crew seized every item that was offered in these unlawful businesses.
The GMC has issued a warning against erecting such stalls in the future; asserting that doing so is unlawful.
They further added that the burden of GMC will fall on violators.
