Guwahati: On Sunday, a medical student from the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) was nominated for esteemed Dr. John Berry White award.
Ananya Chakraborty, a medical student at GMCH, was named as the nominee for the honour. She is reportedly the top MBBS candidate at GMCH for 2022.
Chakraborty would reportedly earn reward money totaling Rs. five lakhs in addition to the prestigious honour.
It should be noted that the distinguished prize was given to her by the Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS).
Furthermore, the award’s debut this year was announced by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a speech at the Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh.
