Guwahati: In a major haul, the Government Railway Police (GRP) seized large quantities of gold biscuits being smuggled and detained one individual in connection with it on Wednesday morning.
The seizure was made at the Guwahati Railway Station today from Rajdhani Express during routine checking.
The seized gold biscuits weighed a total of 323 grams.
The total seizure is worth approximately Rs 15 lakhs.
The detained smuggler has been identified as Mohammad Mohiuddin, a resident of Tamil Nadu.
According to reports, Mohammad was carrying the two gold biscuits inside his pant pocket and was heading towards Chennai from Dimapur when he was arrested by railway police.
Further investigation into the incident was underway.
