Good Governance Week 2024 Launched in Mizoram, Emphasizing Citizen-Centric Approach
Aizawl: The ‘Good Governance Week 2024’ was launched in Mizoram with a workshop held at the Mizoram DC Conference Hall on December 20.
Deputy Commissioner Cheemala Siva Gopal Reddy chaired the event, emphasizing the crucial role of public servants in upholding good governance principles.
Reddy highlighted the importance of good manners, behavior, humility, and responsiveness in dealing with the public, particularly emphasizing the need for special attention to senior citizens and persons with special needs.
The Deputy Commissioner also underscored the significance of initiatives like the monthly ‘Citizen Care- Grievance Redressal Day’ in bringing good governance to fruition. He stressed the importance of transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the conduct of all public servants.
During the workshop, Dr. Saithantluangi Zote, SDC, presented on key aspects of good governance, including the Mizoram Right to Public Services Act, 2015, Result Framework Document (RDF), and Citizen’s Charter.
The ‘Good Governance Week 2024,’ observed from December 19-24, is being held nationwide under the theme “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore (Taking Administration to Villages)” as per directives from the Central government.
