Government Coaching Institute in Assam Achieves Remarkable NEET-JEE Success
Guwahati, 12th June: In a significant achievement for government-driven education initiatives, a coaching institute in Dibrugarh, Assam, has helped 153 out of 220 students clear the NEET-JEE examinations. This initiative aims to provide quality education and support to students aspiring to pursue careers in engineering and medicine.
Addressing a press conference, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated, “Usually after NEET results, the media highlights the student’s success from Ajmal Foundation. We, from the Assam government, formed a youth department tasked with providing coaching to students from economically weaker sections (EWS) for medical and engineering exams, which is currently operating from Dibrugarh and Tezpur.”
From the Dibrugarh centre, 220 students appeared for the NEET-JEE examinations, with 153 successfully securing seats in their respective fields, including three students getting into AIIMS. “Currently, around 600 students are taking coaching at the Dibrugarh centre, and in Tezpur, 106 students. This year, new coaching centres will come up in Nalbari, Silchar, and Jorhat,” the chief minister added.
The Assam government plans to establish such coaching centres across all districts in the state, providing world-class coaching to poor students at no cost. Sarma emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the poor and middle-class, ensuring access to quality education and opportunities for success.
