Government Employee Caught Accepting Bribe in Assam

Guwahati, 21st September: In a case of corruption involving a government employee, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption in Assam conducted a successful operation in Rangia. The employee, identified as Jyotirmoy Baruah, was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe from a complainant.

Baruah, who worked as a Junior Assistant at the Nagrijuli ICDS project in Tamulpur, had allegedly demanded a bribe in exchange for assisting the complainant’s relative in securing a position as an Anganwadi worker.

The operation took place near the Axis Bank branch in Rangia, leading to Baruah’s arrest by the anti-corruption cell.
