Gujarat: Car Mows Down Pilgrims In Aravalli; 6 Dead, 7 Injured

Guwahati: Six people were killed and seven others were injured after a car ran over a gathering of people on a Friday morning pilgrimage in Gujarat’s Aravalli district.

The incident took place as the pilgrims were walking to the Ambaji temple in Ambaji town in the neighbouring Banaskantha district.

According to reports, the car’s driver lost control and swung it in the direction of the worshippers, crushing them.

Following the incident, the injured people were shifted in an ambulance for treatment to Modasa Hospital.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and announced an exgratia grant of Rs 4 lakh for each of the deceased and 50,000 rupees for the injured.

He also urged Aravalli District Collector to ensure the necessary medical treatment for the injured.
