Gujarat Former Minister Jay Narayan Vyas Resigns From BJP
Guwahati: The former state minister Jay Narayan Vyas announced his resignation from the BJP just before the Gujarat elections.
After over 30 years of affiliation with the party, Vyas is now considering his alternatives before running in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
He informed the reporters that he submitted his letter of resignation to the state president on Friday, resigning from the BJP.
He asserted that he had been dissatisfied with the way the Patan district BJP committee was operating.
He did not specify which party he would support when he declared he would run in the 2018 elections.
However, Vyas reaffirmed that he would not contest as an independent candidate.
He continued by saying that he would consult his supporters before deciding which party he would join.
