Guwahati: Guwahati Police on Tuesday said that a youth has been arrested from Basistha police station in connection with kidnapping a minor girl.
The accused youth identified as Dhaneswar Biswas.
According to reports, Biswas was arrested by the East Guwahati Police Department from Basistha PS.
However, the police officials rescued a kidnapped minor girl from Dhupdhara in the Goalpara district of Assam.
Legal action has been initiated into the connection.
Informing the news on Twitter, Guwahati Police wrote, “An EGPD team from Basistha PS rescued a minor girl from Dhupdhara yesterday. One Dhaneswar Biswas, who had kidnapped the girl, was arrested. Legal action has been initiated.”
