Guwahati: Guwahati Police arrested three suspected drug peddlers in connection with drug smuggling and a huge cache of banned Phensedyl cough syrup has been seized on Thursday afternoon.
According to reports, as many as 30,000 bottles of banned Phensedyl cough syrup has been seized from a pick-up truck.
Reportedly, the pick-up truck was coming from West Bengal and was heading towards Bangladesh via Assam and Meghalaya.
A team of police led by Joint CP Partha Mahanta intercepted the vehicle based on specific information, and a significant seizure was made as a result.
However, the identities of the arrested persons it yet to be ascertained.
