Guwahati Airport Records 31% Increase in Passengers, 14% Rise in Flights in August 2023
Assam, 2nd September: The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati witnessed a substantial increase in passenger footfall and flight movements in August 2023 compared to the same period last year.
Official data reveals that the airport recorded a footfall of 4.8 lakh passengers in August 2023, marking a remarkable 31 percent surge from the passenger count in the same month last year.
Additionally, the highest single-day footfall in August reached 16,933 passengers, and the highest single-day air traffic movement peaked at 133 flights. These figures indicate a significant rise in the number of people traveling to and from the state compared to the previous year.
Furthermore, the airport authorities reported a total of 3,839 flights during the past month, representing a nearly 14 percent increase in the number of flights compared to the same period last year.
This substantial growth in passenger numbers and flight movements highlights the increasing connectivity and travel activity at Guwahati’s LGBI Airport.
