Guwahati: Amit Shah, JP Nadda Inaugurate New BJP Office in Basistha
Guwahati: BJP national president JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the party’s new state office in Basistha of Guwahati on Saturday.
It will be the party’s regional headquarters and the largest office in the Northeast.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and other senior political figures from Assam were also there.
The one lakh square foot, six-story structure will offer cutting edge amenities, including a guest house and a contemporary media centre. The building can accommodate 5,000 people, reports said. Another prominent party leader claimed that the new edifice, which is worth Rs 25 crore, was built using donations from party members.
A 350-seat auditorium and five meeting rooms are included in the facility.
Amit Shah, who was the party President at the time, laid the cornerstone for this office in February 2019.
