Guwahati: An angry mob set a truck on fire and killed a person and damaged many vehicles in Tetelia town of Guwahati on Friday.
The incident took place at around 9:30 AM.
According to reports, the truck was travelling on National Highway 37 from Khanapara to Jalukbari.
The unruly truck driving on the wrong track collided with two to three ‘Magic’ (passenger vehicles) at Lokhra in Guwahati. Then it crashed into a scooter in Tetelia, dragging the scooter and the rider for a long distance.
The truck was reportedly stopped and set on fire by enraged people in Tetelia.
The driver and handyman of the truck fled from the area following the accident.
It may be mentioned that a case has been filed at the Gorchuk Police Station.
However, fire service personnel rushed to the spot to control the situation.
