A second suspect has been detained in connection with the murder of Guwahati businessman Ranjit Bora.
The arrested person has been identified as Elbin. He was apprehended in the Japorigog area by the Guwahati Police.
Shah Alam Talukdar, the main suspect in the incident gave confessions that led to Elbin’s arrest.
Elbin reportedly participated in a risky robbery that happened in Lakhimpur. He has robbed a person of Rs 11 lakh in March 2022.
He is a member for the National Army for the Liberation of All Assam.
It should be noted that on Monday, Shah Alam Talukdar the main suspect in the murder of Ranjit Bora was given a seven-day police custody.
Shah Alam Talukdar was the mastermind of the six-member gang who had planned and plotted the murder of the Guwahati businessman.
On November 21 of last year, two bike-borne criminals arrived in the Panjabari area and opened fire on Ranjit Bora, the manager of the local dairy company Purabi Dairy while he was on his way to the bank to deposit money. They then fled with the money.
Bora was rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries.
