Guwahati, 8th February: The Guwahati Police have made a significant breakthrough in the investigation into the tragic death of a youth in Ganeshguri, with the arrest of one individual reportedly connected to the incident.
According to reports emerging on Thursday, Ikramul Hussain tragically lost his life in a brutal attack perpetrated by several youths near Vishal Mega Mart in Ganeshguri, a bustling locality in Guwahati.
Following the harrowing incident, the family members of the deceased promptly lodged a First Information Report (FIR), prompting swift action from the city police, who launched a thorough investigation into the matter.
Crucially, law enforcement authorities managed to retrieve CCTV footage from the vicinity of the incident, providing vital evidence to aid in their investigation.
Meanwhile, sources familiar with the matter revealed that the police are currently engaged in a search operation to apprehend another individual believed to be involved in the incident, who is currently evading authorities.
Reports indicate that the incident transpired on Monday night, during which Ikramul sustained severe head injuries. He was rushed to the Dispur Polyclinic in Ganeshguri for urgent medical attention.
Tragically, despite efforts to save him, Ikramul succumbed to his injuries at the hospital around 3 pm on Tuesday, further deepening the sense of shock and grief within the community.
