Guwahati: Assam CM Reviews Construction Work of Swahid Smarak
Guwahati: The construction of Swahid Smarak and Park at Paschim Boragaon in Guwahati was reviewed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday.
CM Sarma said that the park will be created in honour of the Assam Agitation martyrs.
He noted that because almost 50% of the building work has already been finished, the entire project will be completed by 2023 on a budget of Rs. 180 crores.
The park will have 13 levels, an open-air theatre, a library and concert hall, a yoga studio, a cycling track, and more.
Additionally, there will be a food court with dishes from NE states, a play area for kids, and 70% of the property will remain as wetland.
CM Sarma further said the approach road on the side will be widened.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Cabinet Minister Atul Bora and Rajya Sabha MP Pabitra Margherita.
