Guwahati: Assam Police Seizes Heroin from Drug Peddler
Guwahati, 11th October: The Special Task Force of Assam Police conducted an operation on October 11 resulting in the confiscation of 31 plastic vials and 2 tobacco boxes containing suspected heroin, weighing 58.5 grams, from a drug peddler in Guwahati.
In response to specific intelligence, a Special Task Force (STF) team carried out the operation and apprehended an individual known as Ananiash Basumatary, also known as Mithinga (34), who is not only a drug peddler but also a seasoned thief. The arrest took place on Jail Road, Surjyadoy Nagar, under Basistha Police Station.
In addition to the drugs seized, the STF team also found 3 empty vials, 2 mobile phones, and Rs 3,990 in cash in the possession of the detained drug peddler.
Legal procedures are now underway, and an FIR is being filed at the Basistha Police Station in Guwahati.
