Guwahati: A complaint was brought by a Gauhati High Court lawyer against The Guwahati Address, a boutique hotel in Guwahati.
The hotel charged him an additional tax over and beyond the written MRP of a packed drinking water bottle.
The lawyer has been identified as Debabrat Saikia.
Saikia was charged an additional Rs 50 for a Rs 20 water bottle.
Meanwhile, TGA is situated in the city’s Zoo Road area.
As per the verdict of the commission, it’s ordered that the ‘The Guwahati Address’ has to pay compensation of Rs 10,000 along with cost of proceeding i.e Rs 5000, the Opposition party will have to pay the decretal amount within 45 days from the date of receipt of judgement.
