Guwahati: In a shocking incident, a cancer patient has allegedly committed suicide at North East Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (NECHRI) at Jorabat in Guwahati last night.
The deceased has been identified as Padma Chetri was a resident of the North Lakhimpur district.
According to reports, Padma Chetri was found hanging in ceiling fan at Room No 201 of the hospital.
On being informed by hospital authorities about the incident, a team from Jorabat police reached the spot and started investigation into the matter.
However, the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained.
