The incident was reported near Pancham tower at the GS Road in Guwahati city.

As per sources, the rampage began near the Fifth Tower, when the intoxicated youths allegedly assaulted a man without any apparent provocation.

Speaking to the media, one of the victims said, “We were assaulted without any reason. After attending Arijit Singh’s concert at Barsapara, we were on our way home when the gang, equipped with rods, wooden sticks, and bamboos, targeted us.”

As chaos ensued, the assailants sought refuge within the premises of the Fifth Tower.

After some time, the police reached the spot.

The gang of unidentified youths fled from the spot on the pretext of police coming.

Locals alleged that Pancham Tower premises have been a hub for anti-social activities.

Reports surfaced indicating screams from within the tower, suggesting that two youths were trapped and locked inside.

Reports further indicate that two other youths were also trapped inside the parking area of the tower, allegedly locked in by the assailants. However, police officials attempted to enter the tower, but the mob barricaded them, managing to evade the police.
