Guwahati: The body of an unidentified youth was recovered from a drain near the Maligaon area of Guwahati on Wednesday.
According to reports, the body was found tied inside a bag that was thrown into a drain in the Debkata Nagar area of the city.
Reportedly, the locals spotted the body and informed the police officials. On getting information, the officials arrived at the spot and recovered the body.
From the preliminary investigation, it is suspected that some miscreants allegedly murdered the victim and left the body there.
The police have initiated a probe into the matter. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
