Guwahati: DGP Office hosts crucial meeting on jihadis in Assam

Guwahati: A significant meeting got under way at the DGP office in the Ulubari area of Guwahati on Sunday.

 Assam Police headquarters in the meeting will discuss  the issue of the increase in Jihadi elements in Assam.

Assam police have recently made a number of arrests  with the increase in Jihadis in the state who have ties to AQIS and the Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT).

Assam Police will also hold a press conference to provide information about the meeting when it has concluded.

Assam Police has been effectively apprehending Jihadis from all over the state for the past few months.

Additionally, police had broken several modules.

The majority of the jihadis detained thus far had ties to madrasas in the state, which led to the government ordering the destruction of many madrasas. Notably, a madrasa in Jogighopa had been destroyed by the state government when it was discovered that a terrorist arrested had worked there.
