Guwahati: Former AIUDF MLA Mamun Imdadul Haque Chawdhury Joins AAP

Guwahati: All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and former MLA, Mamun Imdadul Haque Chawdhury has resigned and joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Guwahati on Monday.

Chawdhury was elected to the Assam Legislative Assembly in 2016 on the AIUDF ticket from the Naoboicha constituency in Assam.

He officially joined the AAP today in the presence of local party leaders in Guwahati.

Earlier, Raijor Dal Vice President Kamal Kumar Medhi joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in New Delhi alongside five other members of the party.

Some Congress officials, in addition to Raijor Dal members have also joined AAP. Congress’s Manoj Dhanowar and Dwijen Gogoi joined AAP in the presence of its party National Secretary Pankaj Gupta.

Jitul Deka, Anurupa Dekaroja, Binoy Deka, Dipankar Kalita, and Dibyajyoti Deka are Raijor Dal members who have joined AAP.

It needs to be mentioned that in Assam, the Aam Aadmi Party is now working to expand its support base. In the recent Guwahati Municipal Corporation elections, the party gained confidence by winning one ward.
