Guwahati Gears Up for IPL with New Road and Ticket Frenzy

Guwahati: A significant infrastructure boost arrives for Guwahati’s cricket enthusiasts as Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma unveils a freshly constructed road, linking National Highway 27 directly to the Cycle Factory area via the Barsapara Stadium. This pivotal development, inaugurated today, March 8, promises to alleviate traffic congestion and streamline access to the stadium, a timely intervention ahead of the highly anticipated Indian Premier League season.

The new thoroughfare is poised to become a lifeline for fans travelling to witness the electrifying IPL matches, particularly as Guwahati prepares to host a series of high-profile encounters. With the city firmly on the IPL map, this enhanced connectivity aims to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for spectators attending events at the ACA Cricket Stadium.

In parallel with the infrastructure upgrade, the city is experiencing a surge of excitement as tickets for the Rajasthan Royals versus Chennai Super Kings clash, scheduled for March 30, went on sale from March 1. The ticket distribution process commenced with exclusive access for Super Royals Elite members at 10 am, followed by Super Royals fans at 10:30 am, and pre-registered individuals at noon. General public sales opened at 4 pm, with tickets available solely through online platforms.

Ticket prices for the sought-after match begin at Rs 1,600, reflecting the high demand for seats at the ACA Cricket Stadium. Rajasthan Royals has designated Guwahati as their home venue for the initial phase of IPL 2025, with two night matches scheduled. The team will first face Kolkata Knight Riders on March 26, before the highly anticipated showdown with Chennai Super Kings on March 30. The Rajasthan Royals are set to begin their IPL 2025 campaign with an away match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23.
