Guwahati: GMC removes hoarding after objection
Guwahati: After a concerned citizen reported an advertisement billboard of ‘Marks and Spencer’ Lingerie to be ‘a bit odd,’ in Guwahati, the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) removed it on Saturday.
Nang Lucky Gogoi, a member of the Assam State Commission for Women and a BJP TV panelist (according to her Twitter bio), shared a photo of an advertisement hoarding in Guwahati.
“Hello DC Kamrup Metro, is it not a bit odd?” the concerned citizen wrote, referring to the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M).

According to reports, in response to her question, the Deputy Commissioner’s Office responded that the situation had been brought to the attention of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) and that it would be removed as soon as possible.
However, the Deputy Commissioner’s Office provided an update on the situation, reporting that the advertisement had been withdrawn and changed due to concerns expressed by concerned residents.
