Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs in the state Assam Police seized huge quantity of cannabis and arrested one person in the connection in Guwahati.
The arrestee has been identified as Jaymala Devi.
Following a complaint received from the residents of Tarun Nagar about cannabis being sold at her Pan Shop at Christian Basti in Srinagar area, the police official launched an operation at the place and seized a huge amount of cannabis from her shop.
Sharing the news on Twitter the Guwahati Police wrote, “Acting on public complaint received from the residents of Tarun Nagar, a Crime Branch team arrested one Jaymala Devi from her Pan Shop at Christian Basti in Srinagar area & seized a substantial quantity of cannabis.”

It may be mentioned that a legal action has been initiated into the matter and further investigation is underway.
