Guwahati, 4th March: A team from the Special Task Force of Assam Police conducted a successful operation in Amingaon, Guwahati, intercepting a bus and seizing 139.5 grams of suspected heroin concealed in soap boxes.
Led by Inspector Kapil Pathak, the team apprehended two suspects in possession of the contraband following a tip-off on drug trafficking.
The apprehended individuals have been taken into custody for further interrogation to uncover additional linkages.
In a separate operation jointly conducted by Assam Police and Assam Rifles in Cachar district, 126 grams of brown sugar were seized.
During the operation, a 21-year-old man was apprehended, and 10 soap cases containing a total of 126 grams of brown sugar were confiscated.
The seized narcotics were properly documented, and legal action is underway against the arrested individual to explore further connections.
