Guwahati: Intoxicated driver arrested after speeding car rams into Assam map structure atop Shraddhanjali Flyover

Guwahati, 21st October: In a recent development, the drunk driver of the vehicle responsible for causing significant damage to the railing of the Assam map structure atop Shraddhanjali Flyover in Zoo Road area of Guwahati was arrested by the city police on Saturday.

The incident involved an XUV 700 car, which the accused driver, identified as Kuldeep Parasar, a resident of Himachal Pradesh, drove into the railing.

This collision not only damaged the vehicle but also resulted in injuries to two home guards, Saniram Boro and Rupam Kalita.

Following the accident, the injured jawans filed a case against the driver at Geetanagar Police Station (Traffic), leading to his arrest.

The incident occurred during the early hours when Kuldeep, in an inebriated state, crashed into the boundary railing of the Assam map structure at the prominent Zoo Tiniali trisection atop Shraddhanjali Flyover.

The XUV 700, bearing the registration number AS01 FP 3591, was traveling from Chandmari to Ganeshguri when the accident took place, causing significant damage to the state map structure’s railing. The authorities have taken action against the driver for this reckless act.
