Guwahati Landlord Murder Case: Accussed denied allegations

Guwahati: In another development, the accused Dharanidhar Deka who allegedly killed his landlord in Guwahati on Friday rejected his landlord’s family’s assertions that Deka’s son murdered the tenant Hemdhar Baruah.

While addressing to media Deka admitted, “My landlord was killed by me, not my son. My landlord, Hemdhar Baruah misbehaved with my wife, thus I feel obligated to kill him.”

On being asked if he took any debt from Baruah, Deka denied the claims and stated that they had not taken any loan from him.

Furthermore, Deka refuted Baruah’s family’s claims that his son was abusing narcotics. He claimed that his son is not a drug addict and that if he had, his son would have killed him.

It may be mentioned that A 40-year-old tenant allegedly hacked to death his landlord in broad daylight at Japorigog area of Guwahati on Friday afternoon.

The tenant identified as Dharani Deka allegedly attacked Baruah with a sharp machete for misbehaving with his wife.

Reportedly, Deka surrendered himself at Dispur police station after committing the heinous crime.

The landlord was immediately rushed to a private hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.

It needs to be noted that Deka works as a DTP operator for a private news channel.
