Guwahati: Guwahati Police arrested one person for allegedly being involved in illegal drug smuggling in the city.
A team from the Jorabat Out Post of Basistha Police Station launched an operation against drugs and arrested the accused.
The arrestee was identified as Natai Das aged 52. He is a resident of Byrnihat in Meghalaya.
The police officials recovered a total number of 17 vials filled with suspected Heroin. The recovered heroin weighed around 55.5 grams.
Moreover, the police recovered a cash amount of total Rs 5540 and seized one scooty in the case.
Legal action has been initiated into the matter.
An EGPD team from Jorabat OP of Basistha PS arrested one Nitai Das (52) of Byrnihat for peddling drugs. A total of 17 vials filled with Heroin, ₹5540/- in cash & one Scooty were recovered from his possession.
