Guwahati: One person has been arrested and around one kg of Pangolin scales seized from the accused by the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) and forest department officials in a joint operation from Sonaighuli of Guwahati on Wednesday.
The accused has been identified as Lobai Boro who is a resident of Golflink Pdengshnong in Shillong.
While trafficking wildlife products obtained from Pangolin, he was arrested from the backyard of Don Bosco School of Sonaighuli
According to reports, the scales were taken from Shillong to Guwahati for commerce by arrested Boro.
It needs to be mentioned that under the Wildlife Protection Act, a case (no. G/163 of 2022) has been filed at the WCCB’s Guwahati Range and an investigation into the down and uplink of the wildlife trade is underway.
