Guwahati, 4th August: On Friday, the Central Guwahati Police Department (CGPD) from Chandmari PS successfully apprehended a robbery suspect who allegedly stole cash from a septuagenarian woman near the Chandmari flyover in Guwahati.
The accused thief, identified as Umor Ali (25) from Manikpur, was caught by the police team after he robbed a bag of cash from the elderly woman on Thursday night. The thief was chased down and apprehended near Assam Engineering Institute, where he was found in possession of the stolen bag.
Soon after the arrest, Umor Ali was taken to Chandmari PS for further legal proceedings. A case has been registered against him under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
