Guwahati Police Foils Cattle Smuggling Operation; 61 Cattle Heads Rescued

Guwahati, 17th December: In a proactive operation, the East Guwahati Police Department, Jorabat Outpost of Basistha Police Station, successfully intercepted two trucks on the outskirts of Guwahati in Jorabat on Saturday. Acting on intelligence inputs, the police confronted trucks with registration numbers AS01 QC 6486 and AS31 C 1082 at Link Road in Jorabat.

The trucks were discovered attempting to smuggle a total of 61 live cattle heads to Meghalaya. In a swift and coordinated effort, the police managed to rescue all the live cattle from the two vehicles and apprehended five smugglers involved in the illicit operation. The operation reflects the commitment of law enforcement in curbing illegal activities and ensuring the welfare of animals.
