Guwahati: In a major development in the Guwahati’s Garigaon gangrape case Assam Police arrested the Manager of the Brahmaputra Guest house along with 8 others where the minor girl was raped.
The manager was identified as Abhijit Mazumdar.
Earlier today the prime accused of case has been shot dead in an encounter by the Assam Police in early morning on Wednesday.
Assam Police detained Vicky Ali yesterday, and he was transported to Garigaon, Guwahati, late night. Ali was ‘taken dead’ to GMCH following a bullet wound (s).
Vicky Ali, the alleged rapist, not only attempted to run but also fought the officers on the scene. Vicky was shot and sustained injuries, according to Guwahati city police. One Lady personnel was also injured during the incident.
The police personnel was identified as Tinkul Goswami and she is currently undergoing treatment at Dhirenpara Hospital
It may be mentioned that Apart from Vicky Ali, four others, Faizur Ali, Puna Ali, Pinku Ali, and Raja Ali, are accused of raping a 16-year-old minor girl and filming the whole thing.
The five boys blackmailed the girl by threatening to post her video on social media if she complained about them.
Meanwhile, a case was registered in All Women’s Police Station, Panbazar, under Section 6 of the POCSO Act, 2012, Sections 376 (D) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 67(B) of the IT Act.
