Guwahati: A top official of Noonmati Refinery has been arrested by the Guwahati Police for allegedly committing fraud on Thursday.
The official has been identified as Birendra Kumar Jha.
According to reports, a complaint was made against the officer to the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) authorities through email regarding the corruption that had long since existed in the refinery.
Following receipt of the complaint, the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) briefly directed the Guwahati Refinery’s top management to conduct an investigation.
Thus, on June 3, 2022, the Chief General Manager of Guwahati Refinery, Hitaji Bhattacharya, lodged an FIR at the Noonmati Police Station regarding the incident.
After conducting a comprehensive investigation, the police were able to identify the Senior Manager thanks to a cell phone they had found.
Jha has been arrested today by the Noonmati Police from the refinery premises.
