Guwahati Riverfront Beautification Project Set to Transform City into Major Tourist Hub
Guwahati: Assam Housing & Urban Affairs Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah provided updates on the progress of the Guwahati Riverfront Beautification project, which is poised to position the city as a major tourist destination.
In a recent statement, Mallabaruah shared that construction work is advancing swiftly, including the development of 2-3 gardens along the Brahmaputra river. The ongoing efforts are expected to add new elements to the riverfront, enhancing the city’s scenic beauty. “Under the leadership of our Chief Minister, these works are moving forward rapidly,” he remarked.
The minister also noted that the Guwahati-North Guwahati connecting bridge will further boost the riverfront’s transformation, contributing to additional beautification initiatives. He highlighted the completion of two parks and assured that the project will be completed by April.
Once finalized, the project will elevate Guwahati’s tourism appeal, contributing significantly to Assam’s broader efforts to enhance its tourism sector and urban infrastructure.
