Guwahati: A traffic policeman has been suspended for allegedly thrashing a civilian in Paltan Bazar area of Guwahati on Friday.
The policeman has been identified as Fakhruddin Ahmed.
According to reports, Ahmed is the traffic police of Paltan Bazar Traffic Branch, Central Guwahati Police District for his alleged indiscipline conduct.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Admin) Guwahati,in an order wrote, “ As directed UBC/1431 Fakhruddin Ahmed of Paltan Bazar Traffic Branch ,Central Guwahati Police District is placed under suspension from the stated time for his in disciplinary conduct.
However, he will be paid subsistence allowance in accordance with the rules, and he will be placed on reserved status (OR) with immediate effect.
After a video of the Traffic Police repeatedly abusing the man went viral on social media, the order copy arrived (civilian).
It may be mentioned that the man (civilian) was in the middle of the road with his wife and child when the Traffic Police thrashed him.
