Guwahati: The Guwahati police on Wednesday detained two more persons in connection with the Beltola elderly couple’s murder that took place on Tuesday.
The persons were identified as Budh Dev alias Babul and John Saikia. Among the two detained persons, Saikia is an auto driver.
With these persons being detained, the total number of detainees has reached four while the number of arrests stands at one.
The police had arrested Akash Choudhury, who is the caretaker of the house.
Officials informed that the statements of Akash and his wife were found to be contradicting from one other. The police suspected that Akash and his wife is involved in the murder.
It may be mentioned that other accused in the matter are also being interrogated by the police and investigation into the matter is underway.
